Internet marketing is an effective and inexpensive way for businesses to promote services, products, and companies. The scope of internet marketing is broad, but combines various techniques such as link building, social marketing, email marketing, banner ads and many other online techniques.

A good internet marketing campaign utilizes all of the various types of marketing components, but the most sought after form of online visibility is a position in the natural search engine results.

While search engines consider numerous factors when deciding where a site will rank on the results page, one of the most important factors that determine your site’s search engine ranking are the number and quality of inbound links. In the ‘eyes’ of a search engine, inbound links are like a ‘vote’ for your website - because most websites won’t risk losing their credibility by linking to a site that does not have value. The more votes (or links) from other sites the higher the likelihood that your site is considered valuable by other human internet users.

The Link-Building Benefits Of Online Press Releases

An SEO press release (search engine optimized press release), contains links back to your site. There are two different types of links in the internet world - URL links (the long link that begins with ‘www’) and anchor text links (a link that is embedded into a clickable word.)

While URL links are good for SEO, anchor text links are even better! When search engines crawl your SEO press release, they pick up on the anchor text and associate the embedded address with the site that is being linked to. For example, if a search engine reads a link in a word “designer dog bowls,” it is highly likely that the webpage on the other end of that link is pertains to “designer dog bowls.”

How To Get Started Writing an SEO Press Release

The first step in writing an SEO press release is to find the news in your company. It could be a new product or service, a change in the way your business runs, or a new face on your team. Just be sure that the topic you select has a news angle rather than a promotional one.

Coming up with a keyword rich and catchy title for your SEO press release is next. The keyword will improve its search engine ranking while the catchy title will convince readers to click through and read what you have to say.

Next, it’s time to compose a newsworthy body that contains keywords that you will convert to anchor text. Again, make sure that the entirety of your press release is not overly promotional. This doesn’t mean that your press release must be completely void of personality or some sort of boost to your company. Inserting a couple of quotes from a company representative, allows you to bring a human element to your story, but they also become the selling point that catches the eye of the reader.

Publishing Your Press Release Online

Once you have finished writing and polishing your SEO press release, you will need to publish it through an online press release submission site. Look for sites that offer SEO perks such as using the title as the title tag, anchor text, image uploading, and good overall aesthetic value.

Three main types of submission sites exist online and all three offer different options at different price points. Free PR submission sites do not cost you anything, but they offer very little in terms of features and SEO. In fact, some offer nothing more than plain text while some will give you clickable URLs. Paid membership sites offer you all of the above mentioned attributes, but require a large monthly or yearly fee.

For most, the best option is a hybrid of the two. These sites offer you free submission with a photo and clickable URLs, or you can pay a small fee (usually a few dollars) per press release and have most if not all of the benefits of a paid submission site without the high cost.

Taking the time to compose a well-written SEO press release can do wonders for your internet marketing strategy. When you combine a newsworthy topic with search engine optimized writing, and publish it to the right press release submission sites, your making great strides toward earning one of top spots in the search engines.

Posting to your Twitter account can increase your exposure, attract website traffic and communicate your brand to thousands of prospetive customers and clients. You will gain maximum benefit from Twitter (and avoid common pitfalls) when you follow these steps when you first open your account.

First, take a few moments to design a home page on Twitter that communicates a friendly, professional brand image. Originally I just uploaded my “sleepy cat” logo to the original Twitter pale blue background. Response rate increased when I changed the color scheme.

Then create a profile that includes your URL. When deciding whether you”re “legit,” strangers will check out your website. Of course if you”re networking for business, you want lots of visitors to your site, so this is a good thing. And you never know who will become your next client.

Add a photo to display with your Tweets. If you use the default Twitter avatar you might as well hang out a sign: “I am a flake.” Even if you”re not.

Think about why you are Twittering. Are you looking for friends or creating a professional network? Twitter is good to get acquainted with lots of people and to create an image. So get very clear on what you want to communicate.

Now you’re ready to start adding Twitter follows and followers. To get started, identify 2-3 people who have twitter accounts and go to their sites. Look at the conversations. Click on the names of folks who are doing the postings and you”ll be led to their sites.

Be selective with personal tweets. Each Tweet can be viewed as a line of copywriting. Do you want to tell the world you had tuna fish for lunch? Or share the gory details of your latest visit to the doctor? It”s very tempting but I would encourage my own clients to choose their “warm and fuzzy” image as well as their business brand. Consider writing about your dog, visits from family or your appreciation of nature. When in doubt, opt for discretion.

Your next step is to write 6 to 12 tweets. Pick topics that will communicate your desired personal and professional image. When potential followers come to your site, they will scan your tweets (and maybe your profile). If you have no tweets, they will be suspicious.

Now you can go out and recruit some followers. Just find some Twitter dwellers who seem to be good candidates for a connection. They might be colleagues in your field, potential clients, or just interesting people. Click on their “follow” buttons. That”s all you have to do.

Keep an eye on your numbers. Ideally you will have a balance of followers and follows. If you follow a lot of people but nobody follows you, you will raise a flag. But if you have thousands of followers and only a few follows, you need to have important content that others will enjoy.

SEO experts know that one of the best ways to promote your business is to blog. Unfortunately, many business owners are under the impression that blogging takes a lot of time, or they have seen too many bloggers who start out with gusto only to abandon their blogs two or three months later. While both concerns are legitimate, there is no reason to let them keep you from starting your own blog. After all, business blogging is a great way to build a following and shorten the sales process.

Rare is the sales blogger who settles in a quiet room with a pencil and a pad of paper to write down his most profound ideas. Instead, most bloggers spend their time reading other blogs and interacting with others within their market niche. All this interaction makes it easier, not harder, to blog. Once you are in tune with what everyone else is thinking and writing, coming up with your own material is a breeze.

Here are 7 ways to quickly generate your own content.

1. Interviews. Find an expert in your market niche and see if she is willing to be interviewed via email. Read other interviews to glean interesting and timely questions, and then ask her those. Most experts are willing to be interviewed because they get some exposure out of the deal, too. And the whole process only takes about 15 minutes.

2. Guest Bloggers. Hunt down an expert in your field who has expertise in an area you lack and ask him to write an article for your blog. Not only will you increase your following by attracting your guest blogger s base, but you will end up ranking higher for keywords that would not normally generate a lot of traffic for you.

3. Rewrite. Read some of your old blog posts and find one whose lesson remains applicable to your situation today. You probably have additional insight now, so share that with your readers. Link to the old post and add your new insights. Thirty minutes later you have a new article!

4. Have a Contest. This provides a bonus post because you not only have to post information about the contest, but you also have to tell everyone who the winner was.

5. Ask a Good Question. A good question can ignite great conversation. Use Twitter to help build a following for your blog if you do not already have one. The great conversation generated by your question will ensure that your readers will stick around. Everyone likes to be asked for their opinion. Let your readers share theirs.

6. Use Lists. Lists are great article-writing tools because people are automatically attracted to bulleted or numbered content. Because it is easier to read and digest, readers are more likely to slow down for listed material than they are for material that is written in multiple paragraphs. If you have found a list that you like on someone else s blog, repost it on your blog using only the bulleted phrases and add a link to the original. Change the title of your post, of course, but always link back to the source.

7. Aggregator Blogging. Scan blogs within your market niche to find articles that you think would interest your readers. Publish one or two paragraphs from each article, link to the original, and add a sentence or two of your own to tell readers what you did or did not find helpful about the article. This is also a great way to start good conversations and build networks with other bloggers.

Do not forgo the opportunity to build links, network, and shorten the time it takes to make a sale simply because you think that business blogging is too time-consuming. Use what is already around you to make the process quick and painless, and you will see what a difference it will make for your business.

When written well, SEO press releases can quickly elevate your visibility in the search engines. In some cases, you may be able to hold several spots on the first two pages for your keyword terms — further increasing your visibility while overshadowing others attempting to rank for your keyword. The trick to writing well-ranking SEO press releases is to write them in an optimized manner, and publish them on press release submission sites that offer SEO benefits.

Writing A Catchy Headline

The headlines of your SEO press releases are the greatest opportunity you have to grab the attention of the reader and the search engines. Your headline must not only contain keywords, but also needs to catch reader’s attention and convince them to click through to read your release.

The title should evoke some kind of emotion and intrigue that drives them to want to find out more about your headline. At the same time, you need to include your keyword phrase because some press release submission sites use the title of each SEO press release as the title tag. Title tags are very important in search engine optimization as search engines use these tags to assess the overall topical content of a webpage.

Stick To The News — No Spam Please

SEO press releases are an intended to be news bites. While they are a highly effective component of your search engine marketing campaign, they cannot be a blatant promotion for your company, your products, or your services. Instead, they need to announce news about your business. It could announce a new business, new products or services, or new hires.

Your news could also include new pricing structures, partnerships, or new initiatives such as community or non-profit involvement. The idea is to bring attention to the new things going on within your company without blatant self-promotion. In fact, many press release distribution sites will reject your item if it does not have a specific news angle.

Include One Or Two Quotes

Quotes from someone involved in your news story should accomplish two main goals:

1. If you need to say something promotional with your SEO press releases, the quote is the place to do it.

2. Quotes add a human element to the story and steers it away from being a dry and uninteresting piece.

Use these quotes to connect your readers with the human side of your business. It’s ok to state some options in the quotes, such as why you believe you can serve your customers better than your competitors can.

Using Keywords And Links

One of the primary benefits of submitting press SEO press releases is building backlinks to your website. It is widely understood that SEO press releases are an excellent source of backlinks and can greatly assist in an overall SEO marketing plan. To get these links, you need to include links within your press release your site. There are two types of links - anchor text links (where the term is embedded in a term) and URL links (the long webpage address). Anchor text links are by far, more beneficial to your SEO campaign than are URL links, however, many press release submission sites do not offer them - or offer them at a very high cost.

Because some distribution sites do not allow anchor text, you should always include both anchor text and URL links in the body. While both can be clickable, embedded links will provide you with far more value in the search engines than a URL. When places such as Yahoo and Google crawl your news item, they pick up on the anchor text and associate those words directly with the destination site (yours).

The fast and impressive results SEO press releases generate make them a very powerful marketing tool for virtually any website. For the best results, relay real news about your company in a search engine optimized format, and publish your press releases on a press release submission site that offers anchor text and other search engine friendly features.

How am I supposed to get traffic coming to my website? A lot of new website owners out there think that simply having a good website is all you need to get visitors coming your way. I wish it were so simple but this is completely wrong. No matter how good your site is, it won’t grow without traffic - and visitors.

All webmasters, new and old, realize soon enough that traffic is the lifeblood of their website. Without lots of traffic a website will simply be lost in the ether somewhere out there on some server on the internet. Traffic brings a website to life - the importance of this one fact cannot be under estimated or under stated. This is vitally important. Bringing in traffic to your web site is not easy and it will take a lot of hard work. Of that I can promise you, but without traffic your website will not thrive.

Making people aware of your website and getting your site lots of frequent traffic takes a lot of hard work and planning. This growth will not happen overnight either. How will visitors find your site if you don’t tell them where it’s at? You simply have to advertise - whether it be on the search engines, in the article directories or on the links of other websites.

Without getting too technical I’ll try and list just a few ideas below to help you start getting traffic directly to your site right now. These 25 things below are great places to start. Try one or all, it’s up to you.

1. Use the best keywords or keyword phrases for your site.

2. Create valuable, original content.

3. Make sure you don’t have broken links on your site!

4. Create a blog to build traffic to your website

5. Join the SiteBuildIt! Value Exchange link exchange program

6. Let your audience see you in the writing of your website.

7. Create an XML sitemap for your website, then submit it to Google, Yahoo!, and MSN.

8. Write and submit articles to article directories.

9. Create an e-zine and offer free subscriptions to your visitors.

10. Offer free online services or utilities from your own web site.

11. Join forums and form online communities.

12. Regularly post on forums related to your sites topic.

13. Submit your web site to social book marking sites like Squidoo, del.icio.us etc.

14. Add a sitemap to your site.

15. Participate in Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising.

16. Using on page website optimization methods (ex. page title, META tags, use of your headlines, etc).

17. Create and submit press releases to various Press Release sites.

18. Use viral marketing to grow your traffic and spread the word.

19. Write and ebook and give it away for free.

20. Know your website’s users needs and interests.

21. Add video clips to your website that supports your websites topic.

22. Consider giving something of value away to your customers.

23. Once you’ve established your site, set up your own affiliate program.

24. Keep your web site content fresh and new and upload frequently.

25. Submit your site to all the major search engines using a service like Selfpromotion

A piece of advice first. Before you start spending a lot of time and money on getting visitors to your site, be sure your site is ready for them. After that, try a few, or all, of the 25 methods to boost traffic to your website, above.

(Disclaimer: This article is not about sex or even, necessarily, more money. It will, however, help you create better articles that will LEAD to more money. And more money ALWAYS leads to better sex… right?)

When you are researching a subject offline and you head to the library or even a local bookstore, what is the first thing you do? You head to the section that will likely contain the subject matter of your search. What happens next?

You start looking at book titles. Which ones do you pull off the shelf to investigate? The ones that catch your attention, right?

For instance, which would you choose, a book titled, Ten Ways To Make More Money or Better Sex And More Money?

The first choice is decent enough. If true to its title, it should give you 10 ideas, right? But the other one it has more appeal. At the very least, it piques your curiosity a bit more, doesn’t it?

My point, here, is that your title is the first thing your potential reader will see. It may be the only thing he EVER sees, if you don’t snag his attention with it. So, how do you do that online?

The average Internet user, when researching a given subject, goes to a favored search engine and looks at an empty text box into which he or she must type words that match his or her interest. An experienced search engine user will know that brevity is best and will type in words that pertain only to his/her subject and none of the extraneous fluff, like articles (the, a, etcetera) and adjectives (more, extra, etcetera).

Instead of How Can I Make More Money Online? - he or she will type, Make Money Online.

Instead of “How Do I Get Rid Of Fleas Naturally” he or she might type something like Natural Flea Control.

Once a SERP (Search Engine Results Page) is returned, this virtual bookshelf, if you will, is where the searcher finds what he or she is looking for. Millions of pages have likely been returned for their efforts and now they must pick and choose which ones to look at.

Do you see where I am going with this? The most important thing you have to do right now, is choose an enticing title for your article. But to even make it into the SERP, it must also contain the pertinent keyword(s) about the subject.

While Natural Flea Control is a good title, it will draw thousands of readers, all of whom you must compete with for the attention of the reader. Something like, “Flea Control, The Safest Ultimate Weapon” will garner more attention AND because it uses words that pack a strong emotional impact, will entice the reader to take a look. THAT is your goal. That is why you must choose a title for your article very carefully.

Super affiliates make up that 2% of affiliates that account for 98% of all affiliate sales, and make an absolute killing while they’re at it. So how do they do it? Read on to see what sets the average failing affiliate from the super affiliate, and how you can duplicate their success.

Affiliate programs have become vastly more popular over the last few years. Many are hearing stories about people who are paid in excess of $150,000 per month, just from one affiliate program. And while these stories are quite true, most affiliates are only getting peanuts. The average affiliate doesn’t understand the strategies the super affiliates are using to succeed like this.

What the super affiliate is doing, that the average affiliate is not:

1. Super affiliates stick with one niche till they master it. The average affiliate is too impatient for an unrealistic, instant success, and jump from niche to niche and market multiple niches at the same time. But when super affiliates focus on a single niche, they build an identity, and get to know their target market. They all do it, and you should be taking the cue from them.

2. Most super affiliates use an auto-responder to cue their messages to their mailing lists. Auto-responders are a huge time saver, and essential for managing a massive mailing list like many of them do. Though i wouldn’t look past Aweber, or GetResponse for the most reliable auto-responder.

3. Super affiliates build a relationship with their visitors, list-subscribers, or readers. They try hard to be trusted friends and advisors, not just sales people. They also want to come across as experts in their specialized area.

4. Super affiliates gain their traffic through content. Whatever marketing strategy they use, they always provide a rich source of content. Whether this be a high quality article, a helpful newsletter, or a content rich website. Thats how they gain their initial traffic.

5. Super affiliates take their marketing very seriously. You may think this very basic, but this is core to what sets them apart from the average affiliate. When things are starting out slow, they don’t switch program or change niche. They persevere, spend longer hours at it, research the product and their target market. They treat it like a business, because thats what it is.

What the super affiliates aren’t telling you about affiliate programs:

6. Super affiliates choose and use the right affiliate programs. All the above tips and techniques are good, and account partially to super affiliate success, but many affiliates use all the above methods and still manage to fail. No, the above are quite crucial, but still don’t explain the snowball, cash-machine effect super affiliates get.

Everyone knows that super affiliates use killer marketing techniques, but earning in excess of $2,000,000 per year from affiliate programs is hardly humanly possible - unless you aren’t personally doing most of the work. Super affiliates are extremely selective when it comes to affiliate programs - they use what are known as super affiliate programs.

Super affiliate programs are the ones that have the ability to snowball your efforts, that smartly use the power of leverage, and other peoples efforts to build the wealth you hear about. They only started the ball rolling, and end up with a pyramid effect.

Choosing and using one of the best super affiliate programs is definitely the single most effective and easiest step you can take to earning a super affiliate income. Building and maintaining a massive subscriber list and all the rest takes time and effort, but choosing the right program - hardly any, but still has massive impact on your bottom line.

Super affiliates aren’t the kind of people who sit in front of their screen 24/7, without sleeping, showering or shaving, but they would be if they tried to do it all themselves. They use affiliate programs that provide, a very high conversion rate, snowball effects, and the power of leverage. They work smarter, not harder, and it’s time you did the same.

Business is an indefinite market. Despite of the existence of sophisticated marketing tools to determine the exact wealth of a certain business investment, business is still an indefinite market where you are facing an undefined number of business competitors with unfamiliar or great strengths in terms of marketing their products. The existence of such number of competitors as well as the varying market conditions is just a few of the obstacles that you will meet as you hurdle your way to get a hold of even a meager share of profit on any existing markets.

On the other hand, the introduction of the Internet and E-commerce brought revolutionary changes in the business community. Although its arrival just paved the way for fiercer competition among online entrepreneurs and widen the indefinite number of competitors, it provided an opportunity for individuals who want to start their own business in a cost-efficient manner. It is relatively true; since you are not required to maintain a physical structure, hire more employees, and more paper works. The cost is not as expensive as starting a conventional business, yet the return of investment is higher-you can have your capital returned even just within a few months if you are capable of doing so.

Internet marketing does not only provide convenience in terms of commercial activities but also gave freedom to Internet marketers in terms of running their business at their own discretion. Starting your online business means you are the boss, do whatever you want to do, and work in your most convenient time and attire. Freedom is one of the reasons why there are thousands of individuals who prefer a career on the Internet marketing industry.

The success or failure of your Internet marketing career is dependent on what you learn about the basics of this lucrative industry. Just like getting a real estate broker license, you need to learn the basics of Internet marketing to ensure your success as an online entrepreneur. Although there are hundreds of basics that you need to learn, there are several things that you need to learn first prior to the start of your online business.

One of which is website promotion, a fast-emerging model that has been considered to redefine the traditional promotion methods on Internet marketing. Due to technological innovation, there are repeated shifts in terms of client from one brand or product to another. Thus, as an Internet marketer, you need to accomplish the maximum quantity of prospective clients in a short period of time so that you can get started with your business and acclimatize quickly to the fast-paced online marketplace.

What is website promotion? It means that you need to have your own website that will serve as your “propaganda” in providing portfolio information to your target market, details on the products and services you are offering, and contact details in case your site visitors are convinced that they really need your product and services. In addition, your website promotion may characterize supplementary information such as dealer and partnership networks, accreditation from some reputable Internet-based business organizations, documentations, free trial, online processing of Internet-placed orders, delivery services, and interactive customer care service.

Website promotion is also about defining a website that is well-developed and could be marketed on the Internet. Some of the characteristics/features of such website are as follows:

1) It must have an well-organized information processing. All information requested by site visitors (email newsletter, regularly-posted updates, product information and others) must be incorporated to your website.

2) It must be visible on the Internet. You can achieve this through high search engine result rankings that are commonly attributed to the site’s SEO (search engine optimization) and popular keywords included as part of the website’s content. Increased visibility will help you accumulate potential leads and eventually build a triumphant online business.

3) It must be reputable. Keep in mind that your website is your “alter-ego” on the Internet. The good reputation of your website can be established through registering it in its own domain name and giving it a professional look.

Website promotion is one thing that you must not neglect if you want to see your Internet marketing business grow and achieve success. This promotional tool is essential so that you will not lose your way on the indefinite world of Internet marketing.

Article marketing is a relatively easy technique that will bring you more targeted traffic, increased sales and help to establish you as an authority will build your credibility. You get all of those benefits just by writing and submitting articles.

Although the process is simple there are some key elements to keep in mind. First of all you will want to write articles for a purpose. Determine ahead of time if you simply want backlinks, you want to educate your readers, or if your goal is to get traffic that converts into sales, or if you simply want to increase your page rank.

You can achieve all of the above with article marketing but if you have a plan as you begin writing you can gear all of your efforts toward reaching your goals. For example, if you are planning to use article marketing to increase your sales you will definitely want your readers to read all the way through your article and click on the links in your resource box.

If your article is too long or boring the readers may stop reading long before they reach the resource box. If the article is short and does not provide useful information they may again stop reading before they get to the resource box.

Before you begin writing you need to have a topic in mind. Additionally you should have a knowledge base on the topic. If you do not then you will need to do some research.

Don’t forget about keywords. You will want to use keywords that will be used in a search that will pull up your article. Add the keywords to your title, the first paragraph, the last paragraph, and sprinkled throughout wherever they fit naturally.

The first paragraph should be an introduction to what you are going to tell your readers about. Then you will present a problem and a solution. The solution will of course be the product that you are promoting.

Your last paragraph is a summary or conclusion. Here you will want to wrap things up and sort of remind the reader what you have already told them. This is done in a very concise manner and it pulls everything together.

Next you will add your resource box. Do not use this precious space to tell a lot about yourself. Your readers are there because of the information in your article. Keep that flow going.

The first sentence in the resource box should read as if it is a continuation of the article itself. Always provide a free offer or a discount of some sort to entice click throughs to your website. Once there you can collect email addresses and names in trade for the free offer. This is how you will build your list.

You will then be able to send those people offers for this and other products. Your list will continue to grow as long as your article is working for you. Article marketing is a great way to generate an online income. Your articles are like small ads that work for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. My advice is to write as many as possible.
